Zimbabwe to receive 12 Chinese Medical experts to fight COVID-19
Zimbabwe is expected to receive 12 medical experts sent from Hunan Province in China to help combat the deadly COVID-19. The medical experts left China, Monday 11 May 2020 with a consignment of ventilators, nucleic acid testing kits, face masks and medical protective suits.

Zhu Yimin, the Deputy Director of the provincial health commission, who is leading the team noted that Zimbabwe was among other countries which helped China when it was at its peak of the COVID-19.
CGTN-Africa reports that the 12 experts are from respiratory departments, infectious disease departments, and the fields of intensive medicine, traditional Chinese medicine, infection control, public health and nursing. Most of them have frontline experience in the prevention and control of COVID-19.
Zimbabwe's mutual relations with China dates back to the time when Zimbabwe was under the colonial rule and the same province once sent medical team to Zimbabwe in 1985.
