In his late Saturday tweet Kasukuwere said, “Our nation is
facing huge challenges and the time is now to start journeying back home.
Zimbabwe belongs to us all and we can’t bury our heads in the sand through
fear. Covid-19 has changed the landscape and we have to rebuild our nation. It
won’t be easy but has to be done.”
He received positive responses from across the board with one
user named Retired saying, “Tiri tese akoma (We are together dear brother), when
they open Airports & borders l think most of us we will be heading home to
work & mobilize with our brothers & sisters on the ground, to bring
change to our beloved country. The courts system has proven how lethal &
captured it is!”

Another user named Brands Crpto said the return of
Kasukuwere would bring an alternative to MDC Alliance Nelson Chamisa opposition
politics, “I think u are now a better generation n opposition alternative than
Wamba n crew....”
Kasukuwere has been in exile since 2017 when the former
President, Robert Mugabe was removed through a coup. He summarily came in April
2018 when he was arrested upon arrival facing border jumping and abuse of office
charges. In 2018 the courts cleared him both border jumping and criminal
charges.
In acquitting Kasukuwere, Magistrate Ms Josephine Sande said
he did a reasonable thing by escaping to save his life. She said the court had
an appreciation of bullet holes and empty cartridges which were noticed at his
house. Ms Sande said the court does not operate in isolation and cannot turn a
blind eye to events related to events of November 2017.
Sarah Mahoka once hinted on Kasukuwere return in April 2018 when he eventually returned a few days later.
